Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) better known by her stage title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. It was here that she gained recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks online in the year 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her create Rihanna references. The news was released on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang with Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. The music video later released in September. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two singles more were released by her on November 13 Pedigree and No One. She was featured with Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16th, and released the song as a solo single for the album she released her debut. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to go along with the track. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
